What's Up Wednesday: BOMs and charity blocks
Lots of block making going on over here.
maple block |
Have you seen all the modern maple quilts popping up on IG and blogland? This one is my favorite. There are some really unique takes on the traditional maple leaf block, so I am excited that our OrlandoMQG has selected the maple block for its November block of the month. Above is my sample block. Our BOMs are 12.5" so this is the tutorial we are using.
I didn't follow Angela's suggested HST method because I wanted a scrappier look for the background, but I kept the leaves all the same Hope Valley print.
Halloween BOM |
Our October BOM is a Halloween block of our choice. Here's mine again.
Boggy Creek blocks |
Our guild's newest charity project is quilts for Camp Boggy Creek. My table is making slice and insert type blocks in the blue family. I've made four so far...somehow the fourth block didn't get photographed....
September MCM Bee block |
Here's Anne's September MCM Bee block I mentioned in a previous post but didn't show a picture. It only took me until September 4th to make the block but September 30th to actually put it in the mail!
Whew! I am now all caught up on my blocks....until Elizabeth assigns me her October MCM Bee block that is ;-)
I am only in one online bee and am a member of only one guild which means only two BOMS. We will occasionally have challenges and of course there are charity projects as well to keep us busy. How many monthly quilting "homework assignments" do you have?
Thanks for stopping by!
